The Nutcracker hit the boards on the 18th and was exceptionally well recieved. Ten weeks of intense madness, material changes, "on my god that never shipped" the Spanish disaster aka "can you make a bodice in three days, because we had a major screw-up with the other one?" All through the crazy busy holiday season. The first in awhile where people were dressing up again. And a wedding to boot for the 2nd of January. Completely pearl encrusted too, so the re-beading work is tremendous.
Though I love my work I seriously don't want to pick up a needle or scissors for another couple of days if it can be helped.

.....otherwise known as Nutcracker costumes. My commission came through and I'm creating a collection of pieces for a local school to use in their production of the Nutcracker. Of course in the midst of all this I've begun my intermediate level classes in belly dancing, I'm still ballet dancing, the Mists of Avalon shoot just happened on the 12th and I'm making a few costumes for Halloween.
Yes I know, I'm a bit nuts, but as soon as snow hits the ground everything will quiet down and I can have some play time.

The four doll dresses are done for the Rotary auction and they've gone off to their temporary location before the auction starts. Currently I have the mermaid tail out on location with one photograhper and I'm awaiting pictures from a second photographer from a shoot on the 13th.
I'm back at ballet (thankfully I'm not teaching this year, too much work to do)and I'm starting belly dance lessons.
August, september and october are proving to be intense months for weddings at the tailor shop.
And the weather is great here...........finally we're having summer.

Currently working on the new pieces for the Rotary auction.......hopefully I'll make my goal of eight. I have a medieval cape to photograph, and a mermaid tail that I built last month but that I've been too busy to get around to photographing. The busiest stretch of our wedding season is approaching and it's eating up more energy than I have, also for the past month every weekend has been hugely busy with social events.........I can't wait until school starts and I can go back to dance.

The pictures from Photographix just arrived and I'm so blown away with them. Mark was cooler and calmer than I was when I was at the shoot. It is one thing to perform on stage at arms length from everyone but I'm always nervous when shooting one on one with models and photographers. So different but so worth it.
